Cystoscope
A.C.M.I. - American, circa 1910
There is a very small electric light at the tip of this cystoscope, which brings it into the realm of electrical medicine. At the turn of the century, doctors were very enthusiastic about the light bulb, which gave them illumination independent of the sun or a lamp-flame. They still depend on electric light today -- they are simply so used to it that they don't think of enthusiasm. |
