Spring Break Visitors

 

Spring is finally here, so why not spend your school break days at The Bakken! Spring Break at The Bakken Museum offers an educational atmosphere your whole family can enjoy featuring interactive learning and fun STEM-based experiences!

March 25 through April 9 visitors can enjoy special Spring Break Science Studios activities every day of the week! See what the monthly Science Studios theme is here.

 

The week of April 3 - 7 is creature week here at The Bakken. Join us as we draw inspiration from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and create our own creatures and reflect about what it means to create life and be alive!

In the spirit of Victor Frankenstein, take various body parts from different creatures and “stitch” them together into a new creature.

Workshops

Mini Workshop [about 1 hour] – pre-registration recommended

Join us for an in depth investigation of what it is like to be a scientist, wrestling with the challenge of bringing a creature to life. Gather with a group of fellow scientists for this experiment.

·         Group Introduction (10 minutes)

·         Tinkering and building 30-45 minutes)

·         Share and debrief (10 minutes)

At the end of the workshop students will get to take their creation home with them.

Drop In Activities[15 minutes, up to 2 hours]

Join us in the Bakken Workshop for an opportunity to experiment with Frankensteinian science. Activities are open for most for a long or as little time as you would like to spend tinkering in the shop.
