Touch the Earth: CLOSING OCT. 21!
Botanical Art by Janet and Howard Goltz
A new Great Hall exhibit opened June 9, 2016, and runs through October 21st, presenting botanical art by Janet and Howard Goltz. Titled “Touch the Earth,” this show highlights the intricate beauty of the nature around us through detailed and revealing illustrations. It features watercolor, graphite, and photographic works, as well as woodcraft and basketry.
Both Janet and Howard studied botanical art at the Minnesota School of Botanical Art and the Grand Marais Art Colony. Their works have been featured in exhibitions around the Twin Cities and beyond. The interior design career of Janet and the architectural career of Howard were purposely kept separate, though they shared office space many times over their 40 plus years of professional life. However, through their design professions, they honed their artistic skills over the years. Now in retirement, they frequently draw or paint across the kitchen table from each other, periodically standing to critique their own and the other's artwork as it develops.
