BAKKENALIA RETURN JUNE 1

Kick off your summer with our 21+ event series! Each Bakkenalia features tasty drink samples, interactive activities, food trucks, live music, and access to the museum.

  • June 1 – Bakkenalia: Birds & Bees (tickets on sale now)

  • July 20 – Bakkenalia: Adult Summer Camp

  • October 5 – Bakkenalia: Science/Fiction

Must be 21 years of age or older to attend Bakkenalias.

GARDENS OPEN

Our gardens are open for the season. Check out our beautiful Florence Bakken Medicinal Garden, stroll through the Healthy Heart Organic Garden, and learn about flora and fauna native to the region in the Dakota Native Plants Garden.

Tip: pack a lunch to eat at the picnic tables on the green roof!

FIELD TRIP REGISTRATION AVAILABLE

Registration for on-site field trips to The Bakken Museum for the 2023-2024 school year are now open! During each field trip, students explore the connections between science, technology, and the humanities. We offer dynamic, hands-on workshops and tours of The Bakken Museum or the nearby Pavek Museum.

OPEN EYE THEATRE PRESENTS: LOCH MESS

Opens June 23, tickets on sale now

A new all-ages musical adventure from the team who created LOG JAM and HAIR BALL, set in the 1900s on Lake Superior, this comic entertainment will feature shipwrecks, a lake monster, and lots of real water on the museum’s rooftop lawn. Written and composed by Josef Evans, directed by Joel Sass, and featuring a stellar cast of Open Eye regulars along with new faces (and voices!).

This show is ideal for ages six and up.
