Field Trips

Registration for 2026-2027 is now open

During each field trip, students explore the connections between science, engineering, and innovation in a dynamic, hands-on, guided inquiry-based workshop and either an interactive gallery tour of The Bakken Museum exhibits or a visit to the nearby Pavek Museum. Students learn that when they wonder, try, discover, and share, they are engaging in the science, engineering, and/or innovation process.

On the Bakken tours, groups of students explore the connections between science, engineering, inspiration, and innovation through The Bakken Museum's galleries. Students will engage in hands-on challenges and activities designed to spark curiosity, create conversations, and awaken the innovator in each of them.

“The programs The Bakken Museum has presented have been so entertaining and educational. I appreciate the thoughtful way the programs are planned, with kids in mind. The hands-on science experiments are so valuable for kids, and they are something I would not be able to present on my own. I truly value the education and experience of the educators who present these programs.”
