POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Performing Arts Coordinator leads and supports dynamic educational programming across Minnesota, performing for students, mentoring staff, or managing logistics for high-energy STEM-focused shows and workshops. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to grow instructional skills, have an impact across the state, and help shape how students engage with science through the performing arts. Serves as a lead program educator, communicating and coordinating with sites, managing materials, and setting up all team members for success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Outreach Programs Coordination- 80% (40% Teaching, 40% Coordination)
Perform and lead interactive programs for students, teachers, and families.
Set up, clean up, and manage logistics for program sessions.
Support in the strategic development and expansion of performing arts-based Outreach Programs statewide.
Support the hiring and training of program staff.
Communicate with partner sites and stakeholders.
Manages program materials, including purchasing, repairs, and tracking.
Evaluate performing arts Outreach programs and provide feedback.
Provide coaching and direction to performing educators
Onsite Education Program Support - 25% (15% Teaching, 5% Other)
Help develop and prepare onsite education programs.
Deliver education programs at the museum.
Support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
Assist with Public Programs or events.
Other duties as needed or required
Perform other duties as needed or required which are within the position's scope.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of experience teaching K-12 youth in a formal or informal educational setting.
1+ year of experience supporting programs through materials management & data tracking.
2+ years of acting, directing, or similar performance experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel overnight for some work assignments.
A valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
Ability to move through and access all areas of the buildings and grounds including stairs, indoor and outdoor areas, and small spaces.
Ability to manipulate computers, office equipment, folding chairs and tables, and similar items related to an office environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to drive a museum vehicle.
TRAVEL:
This position will require regular local and regional travel including multiple hour drives. Additional overnight travel for up to one week away is expected up to 6-8 times a year.
