The Bakken Museum announces new President & CEO
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Bakken Museum is excited to announce that Jennifer (Jenn) Hensley will join the museum as its new President & CEO, effective February 3, 2025. With a career rooted in collaboration and problem-solving and the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders, Hensley brings a passion for innovation to the museum.
"Jenn has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to fostering creativity and curiosity," said Heather Walch, Chair of the Board of Directors. "As we celebrate The Bakken’s 50th anniversary this year, we are confident that she will continue to build on the museum's legacy and position us well for the next 50 years."
Hensley comes to The Bakken Museum from the Downtown Boise Association, where she was Executive Director and led efforts to keep the regional economy healthy by ensuring that the area remains a successful place to do business. Her vision for the museum includes expanding educational programs, enhancing interactive exhibits, and engaging with the community to promote STEM education. She will be relocating back to the Twin Cities where she previously served as Director of Operations at the Minnesota Museum of American Art.

Hensley was named a 2024 Idaho Woman of the Year.
