Wetlands are water-rich natural areas that provide food and refuge for a variety of wildlife. The Bakken’s Wetland Science Activity Cart offers free STEM-themed activities for youth and families right outside the museum’s restored wetlands. Stop by to learn about our natural ecosystems and conservation from members of our education team.
The Wetland Activity Cart can be found on Saturdays from 12 to 3 p.m. near the corner of W 36th Street and W Bde Maka Ska Parkway // SEE MAP

SEED BOMBS
You’ve heard of a bath bomb, but have you heard of a seed bomb? Make your very own seed bomb with wildflowers native to Minnesota. You’ll Learn how seeds are scattered in nature by wind, water, and animals.
CREATURE OBSERVATIONS
Help our educators identify creatures from the wetland. Use tools to examine species, try to catch a bug, and peer through binoculars to spy on birds.
The Bakken Museum’s Facilitated Wetland Science Activity Cart is supported by the West Bde Maka Ska Neighborhood Council.
