Great River Energy
MAYO Foundation
Great River Energy is a not-for-profit wholesale electric power cooperative, providing electricity to 28 member-owner distribution cooperatives in Minnesota. The Bakken Museum has been proud to partner with Great River Energy since 2002, across a variety of capacities. Our partnerships have included event sponsorships, grant funding towards STEM youth programming, and, most recently, sponsorships for education programs in elementary schools throughout their member cooperatives’ communities. In 2019, The Bakken Museum was able to visit 15 elementary schools throughout the state to perform our War of the Currents interactive assembly program.
The Mayo Foundation plays a pivotal role as a dedicated supporter of The Bakken Museum's STEM Outreach Programs. Through the Mayo Foundation's generous backing, we have the opportunity to broaden our impact in Olmsted County, extending engaging STEM experiences to more schools. This vital funding facilitates the expansion of our acclaimed "Small Stuff, Big Deal" show, bringing the wonders of nanoscience to life through interactive performances. In partnership with the Mayo Foundation, we are cultivating a passion for STEM in Olmsted County, empowering the next generation of innovators, and contributing to a brighter future for our community and beyond.
Schulze FF
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation is a partner in advancing The Bakken Museum's STEM Outreach Programs. Their invaluable support piloted a Community Camp Program at North Commons Camp in collaboration with the Minneapolis Parks Board. This initiative extends the innovative camp experience, typically confined to our on-site facilities, to local communities, providing it free of charge. Their funding supports essential supplies, secures community venues, and aids staff efforts for program preparation, training, and execution. Additionally, the foundation's support ensures meals for participating students, fostering a comprehensive experience. The foundation's commitment aligns with our mission, contributing to a vibrant and successful future for our programs and the communities we serve.
