Enjoy The Bakken Museum after hours during our Bakkenalia summer series. Bring a friend, grab a drink, and try out experiments all about the science of color. Attendees will have full access to the museum’s exhibits and gardens plus unique science, art, and cocktail demonstrations from museum educators and special guests.

You Can Play Tricks on Your Eyes and You Can Play Tricks on Your Friends… // Challenge a friend to a color sorting game with an added twist—wearing glasses with colored lenses that change what your brain can see!

Dichroic Chic // Build wearable art using dichroic film, a material that changes color depending on how it interacts with light.

Natural Color Lab // Experiment with making and mixing your own water colors using natural materials and chemical reactions.

Spectroscope Challenge // Discover the colors contained in the light we see using diffraction grating and challenge yourself to match different lights to the spectra they emit.
